Southern Pines, NC – The HV3 Foundation is pleased to announce the expansion of its HV3 Mentor program to include the First Tee of the Triangle, furthering its mission to nurture young individuals into productive adults through impactful mentorship.
Through the support of the HV3 Foundation, First Tee-Triangle will connect young people with long-lasting mentors to support their development and well-being. This will be achieved through providing safe and impactful opportunities for participants and their mentors to bond, build, and grow both on and off the course.
Established by professional golfer Harold Varner III, the HV3 Foundation is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of accomplished individuals by offering access to essential resources, expert guidance, and comprehensive opportunities for success both on and off the golf course. The HV3 Mentor program connects young girls and boys with seasoned mentors who provide invaluable advice, unwavering support, and steadfast encouragement.
“The expansion of the HV3 Mentor program to the First Tee of the Triangle is a great next step for our foundation,” said Harold Varner III, founder of the HV3 Foundation. “We believe in the power of mentorship and its ability to change lives. By partnering with the First Tee of the Triangle, we can reach even more young people and help them achieve their dreams.”
“We are incredibly excited to partner with the HV3 Foundation to bring the HV3 Mentor program to First Tee—Triangle,” said Brandon Baker, President/CEO of First Tee-Triangle. “This collaboration embodies our shared vision of making golf accessible to all young people while providing them with the mentorship and support they need to thrive. I personally know the transformative power of quality mentorship, having benefited from it greatly in my formative years and throughout my career. We are deeply grateful for the support from Harold Varner III and his foundation, and we look forward to creating meaningful, lasting connections that will empower our youth to be Game Changers both on and off the golf course.”
This expansion is set to benefit girls and boys in the Triangle, providing them with unique opportunities to learn from successful community leaders, build confidence, and develop them into well-rounded young adults. The HV3 Foundation and First Tee of the Triangle are dedicated to ensuring every participant has the tools and support needed to succeed.
“The impact of this program extends beyond the golf course,” said Jason Cox, Executive Director of the HV3 Foundation. “It’s about giving these young people the confidence and skills to develop in all areas of their lives. We’re excited to see the positive changes from this partnership.”
About First Tee-Triangle: We enable kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. By seamlessly integrating the game of golf with the life skills curriculum, we create learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that kids carry to everything they do.
About the HV3 Foundation: Launched in January 2019, the HV3 Foundation aids programs that allow youth to access golf and other sports. This 501 (c)3 foundation is the brainchild of Harold Varner, III, who knows firsthand how prohibitive the cost of equipment, proper coaching, and course access can be in golf. The mission of the HV3 Foundation is to provide affordable access to youth in sports. “It’s not just a game; sometimes it’s a chance at a whole new life,” said Varner. “Playing sports may lead to a new interest in school, career, mentor, college, and beyond. It’s a great start for students of all ages and in all sports.”
