Congratulations to Charlotte Catholic High School on bringing home the win at the 2nd HV3 Girls’ High School Invitational contested at Gaston Country Club in Gastonia, N.C. It was a fun and exciting day of competition as 16 high school teams battled it out to the very end. It was a shotgun start at 1:30 pm, and as players went out to their starting holes, the sun began to peek through the clouds. Many teams found their way to the top of the leaderboard throughout the round, making for an eventful 18 holes of golf that came down to the last few holes.
Elizabeth Guthrie, Laney Bauersfeld, Maya Claffey, and Kameron Kohutek represented the Charlotte Catholic High School team today. Guthrie, Bauersfeld, and Claffey carded rounds of even-par, 3-over, and 4-over, respectively, to put their team at the top of the leaderboard at 7-over, 223 total. The team’s 10 birdies combined helped them to separate themselves from the pack to first place.
Congratulations to the co-medalists today, Elizabeth Rudisill of Charlotte, N.C., and Gracie Song of Waxhaw, N.C. Rudisill and Song each carded a 68, 4-under, to earn the co-medalist title. Leah Edwards of Greensboro, N.C., finished in third place, two strokes behind the co-medalists at 2-under.
Congratulations to both all-tournament teams, represented by the Top 10 individual scorers.
